first days at work and what a weekend
balloons fell for the Red Bull Barakos...
the night before my first day at my new work as part of the creative services team of a network i went to the manual anniversary party at the fort with D, N, T, K and A. i guess that is my version of starting with a bang, ha! my brand new officemates seem to be nice, i actually completed a task during my first day and i had a simple take home stuff to do for the weekend. i guess my new boss somewhat knew that i was just planning to stay in and do nothing for the weekend but knowing that i easily get bored she gave me something to do and i appreciate that, hehe. but what a weekend it turned out to be! my saturday started pretty early because i had to start writing an article due on tuesday but after lunch i had to rush to power plant to meet with P, attend an event and to see C who called to say she’s at the mall as well. P and i had tea and nachos at press cafe then we joined C and D to watch close to you (don’t worry you guys, you will just be known as P, C and D so people will never know your real identities, hehe). after the movie, P and I checked out the fashion show that i had to cover for action & fitness magazine. we then went to teak to join C and D for dinner but since they didn’t like the food there and D had to leave already we ended up moving to sugarhouse where we saw sam milby towards the end of our dinner. i slept at around three in the morning finishing up the article for chalk and texting with the other P. sunday was spent at araneta. i watched PBA with B (after a long time and courtesy of C!) who bought me my first ever burritos from taco bell (another new food to add to my list, C would be so proud!). L was also there and the three of us ate BTIC ice cream during the half time break. my (actually it’s really my father’s favorite but since my real team SMB didn’t make it it’s the next best thing) team, purefoods chunkee, lost the championship to the red bull barakos but it was not really devastating since most of the players of red bull were from my college team. i’m looking forward to a great time at work and more surprises for my future weekends. =)

my kind of hearts day
R sent one of the first and most wonderful texts for the day that said "with date or no date you can’t deny the fact that you are fabulous and we love you." i spend hearts day as i would any other special day and that is being with the people that i love. for the longest time my celebrations of valentine’s day depended on whether my cousin next door would throw a birthday party or not since her birthday falls on the same day but with or without a party i always remember to say i love you to my mother, father and brother (and even to all my relatives who live nearby) by saying it out loud or with a card. ever since i came to manila, how to spend the day is all up to me and since then i have gotten used to spending it with my friends but more often with J a.k.a. as snicket. i planned on staying in yesterday but i ended up having a full day. of course first agenda for the day was to reply to greetings and text greetings to people then i met up with a friend to get my valentine’s day gifts for friends i would see that day but not after going to lunch mass. i was off to ABS-CBN at around half past three to get something from there and to visit a friend. i was set to go home when i got all these texts for evening plans and so true to tradition i had dinner with snicket (note: even if she has a bf already) at via mare in power plant (note again: it’s always been at this mall) then we had coffee at seattle’s best coffee while watching rockin’ revival. N and D then joined us at our place for a nightcap with ice cream and drinks in tow. J called from NY and that’s the kind of surprise that best ends hearts day. so you see it’s not all about dates, roses and chocolates - it really is about good food AND people who love you and who make everyday valentine’s day.hope you had as much love as i did =)
ps, i will post pictures of my trips when i will have the time to do so =)
